My name is Samuel Profeta (Prophet). Looks like a joke, but my last name is not a nickname. To simplify, you can call me Sam. From my mother, I got the creativity, the optimism and the curls. From my father, the idealism and the beard. I love to put things into imaginary grids. I think that life would be much funnier if it were a musical. Want to visit Japan. I’ve studied dramatic arts. The only two things I don’t eat are papaya and beets. Can’t live without lists. I Always pick yellow. I don’t like the bed sheet badly stretched. I have a Jabuticaba tree. Wanted to be friends with Willy Wonka. I used to be addicted to Coca-Cola. Now my addictions are lip balm and organizing my iTunes library. Going to the movie theater by myself is not a problem. I think that the inventor of “coxinha” is a genius. Album covers fascinate me. Wish I had an unicorn. I appreciate those who have repertory. Love to meet last week’s best burgers in town. I can’t whistle. I can spend hours talking about divas. I believe in ETs. They say that my hug is good. I am convinced that the best songs were made in the 70s and 80s. Love to make people laugh. I like sunny cold days. I was a hand model once. If my life were a movie, it would be directed by Almodóvar. I appreciate sarcasm. I still have a lot of tattoos that I want to get. As a child, I thought that the Carrefour icon was an anchor. Speaking of which, I’m pretty sure mermaids exist.
I was born in 1983, in Belo Horizonte, and undergraduate in Graphic Design at Escola de Design (UEMG) in 2006. I am graduated in Design Management at Centro Universitário Belas Artes de São Paulo. Professionally acting since 2005, I’ve worked in different types of design firms. At Fábrika Comunicação Integrada (2005-2006) I was able to meet all the communication areas and work with professionals from different backgrounds, developing visual identity, editorials and promotional jobs. At Torchetti (2006-2010), an office with design and branding in its essence, I created packaging, endomarketing and wayfinding projects, among others. At Agência Dez (2010) I worked with design and art direction to supply demands from fashion and culture clientes. In 2011, I joined the FutureBrand team, in São Paulo. Focused in packaging design, I worked strategically architecting, building and managing brands. I was also in charge of coordinate clients accounts and a design team. From 2012 to 2014, I worked as a Senior Designer at Usina Escritório de Desenho, managing projects and designing visual identities for Brazilian and Latin American consumer brands. Nowadays, I work as a freelancer. Beyond graphic design, I’m interested in social networks, coolhunting, digital design and new media technologies.
I’ve developed projects for clients such as BRF, Cemig, FIAT, Garoto, GE, Governo Federal, Grupo O Boticário, Hypermarcas, Ingá, Itambé, M. Dias Branco, Medley, Mondelēz, Nestlé, Pepsico, Tetra Pak, Unilever, Unimed, Vale, among others.
I believe that graphic design exists to make people’s life better or more interesting. Better, in order to bring more clarity, more objectivity and more meaning to all kinds of visual information. And interesting since it can cause enchantment, awake feelings and catch someone’s eye through a color, a shape or a type.
An old movie, a photograph, an nephew’s colorful toy, the design in a gate grill, an informal aunts conversation, the mint ice cream color, the wrapping paper pattern, a piece of packaging found in the street – all inspire, adds and contributes. Just keep the eyes wide open.

As a part of his final project on ‘Creativity and Innovation’ at Sao Paulo’s University Fine Arts Centre, Samuel came up with the idea of turning his resume into a Milk Carton. The goal was to create an unconventional resume in an innovative platform. All the information about the student were placed in a cardboard package as if they were texts from a product,” he explains on his website.
Graphic Designer -slash- Musician, Scott Mcfadden, believes in the power of design, and for him design is more than proficiency in navigating Adobe’s Creative Suite, which is clearly evident by his Guitar resume. On why he chose to go with the unconventional route with his resume, he explains, “I’ve heard it said that you should treat your resume as a person. You need to think about how you might introduce yourself in person, and translate that feeling to your resume. With this in mind, I wanted my resume to show who I was; to introduce me, without physically being present.”
Conclusion : If you really want to stand our of crowd, you should be creative in terms of knowledge and creativity. Employers prefer those who are friendly, easy going and believes in teamwork. We are sure you all will get your dream position soon.
